The excise takes care of tax collection in cant areas

Rawalpindi:

The Department of Incise Control, Taxation and Narcotics has taken up total control of the collection of professional taxes and luxury tax in canton areas, issuing opinions at 10,000 small and large traders in various markets and shopping centers of Rawalpindi Cantt and Chaklala Cantt to pay the professional tax.

In addition, 312 owners of houses measuring two or more Kaillands in the two canton zones were issued to pay a luxury tax. Merchants were invited to pay a professional tax from RS2,000 to Rs10,000, while owners of houses in two kalls were invited to pay 200,000 rupees and those who have larger properties will have to pay RS300,000 in luxury tax.

Notices for both taxes must be paid by Eidul Fitr, with instructions to pay within 10 to 15 days. Previously, the perception of these taxes was managed by the cantonment board administration; However, the Supreme Court (SC) led the cessation of tax collection by the boards of directors of the canton and transferred the entire system to the excise and tax service.

Following this directive, the Department of Accerse launched operations for the collection of professional and luxury taxes in the eight canton committees of the Rawalpindi division, including Rawalpindi, Chaklala, Wah, Taxila, Kamra, Murrier, Jehlum and Mangla.

The excise service plans to generate millions of rupees in additional income thanks to this process. According to an official, the collection of professional and luxury taxes has been accelerated and a separate counter was established for this purpose.

After Eid, a large operation will be launched to enforce the collection of the two taxes, which will include arrests and the sealing of real estate units, he adds.
