A vehicle would have been struck by a police mobile from the Sindh governor’s procession, Kamran Khan Tessori, near the Sindh assembly in Kabbotar Chowk in the Aram Bagh region.
The accident seriously damaged the car, leaving the driver, identified as ATHAR de Liaquatabad, with serious injuries. He was quickly taken to Jinnah hospital to be treated there.
The victim, identified as Athar, traveled with his brother to Burns Road for a Sehri when their car was hit by the speeding of a speeding.
Eyewitness said that the convoy of Governor Tessori crossed the area when one of the escort vehicles collided with the civil car. The driver of the police vehicle would have admitted that they were in a hurry as part of the Governor’s protocol.
At the time of the incident, the governor returned to the governor’s house after having had Sehri in Burns Road, sources said.
Police arrived at the scene and recorded witness declarations, but later said that he had no knowledge of the incident. Surveys are underway.
