Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) launched an investigation after a flight, PK 306, traveling from Karachi to Lahore, landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport without one of its wheels.

A spokesperson for the PIA said that the problem was discovered during an inspection after landing the flight at the airport, revealing that one of the rear tires lacked.

Sources have revealed that despite more than 14 hours of passage since the flight arrived, the missing tire has not been found at Karachi or Lahore airports.

The reports indicate that the tire was present when the plane took off from Karachi, and the plane made a normal landing and a tax at Lahore airport.

After receiving a notification of Lahore air traffic control (ATC), part of the tire shaft was located at Karachi airport.

According to a press release published by the civil aviation Authority (CAA), preliminary observations suggest that the incident may have taken place due to a possible external object striking the track in Karachi.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the PIA confirmed that after the Karachi flight landed in Lahore, one of the wheels had been missed. The PIA flight security service, as well as the CAA, immediately launched an investigation into the issue.

The declaration has also added that if the final report will reveal the cause of the incident, the initial results indicate that the wheel may have been assigned due to a defect on the track or another external factor.

However, the plane has made a fluid and safe landing in Lahore, and the design of the plane guarantees that such an incident does not compromise air -safety.

A PIA team was sent to Lahore to investigate the landing without wheel. The security and aviation authorities have also started their investigation into the incident.
