Juraj Krúpa, CEO of AJ Investments and a minority shareholder in Ubisoft, accused the Assassin’s Creed The publisher is “horribly managed by the current management” and provides for an event outside the Paris headquarters of the company.
According to a declaration shared with IGN, Krúpa claims that Aubisoft has not disclosed acquisition discussions and underlined a limited article published on the investment platform, Mergermarket, which allegedly alleged “Discussions between Microsoft, EA, and other people interested in acquiring Ubisoft IP”.
Krupa says that: “Management has not informed [the] public on these steps either. “”
The investor also alleged that the company had intentionally “hidden information”, namely a partnership with the Saudi investment company Savvy in relation to a Assassin’s Creed Mirage Downloadable contents (DLC).
Krúpa wants a “clear roadmap for the recovery” of the senior Ubisoft team to approach “the drop in the value of shareholders, the operational execution of the bad land and the non-adapting effectively to market trends”.
Ubisoft has since shared a statement with IGN in response to Kúpa’s claims, saying: “As we mentioned during our quarter sales, the examination of various transformational strategic and capitalist options is underway.
“The Council has created an independent ad hoc committee to supervise this formal and competitive process, in order to extract the best value of Ubisoft assets and franchises for all stakeholders. Ubisoft will inform the market in accordance with the applicable regulations if and once a transaction materializes.”
In October 2024, Bloomberg reported that Ubisoft was planning to sell almost the entire company in Tencent. At the time, Ubisoft could not offer additional details, but told IGN that it “would inform the market if and if necessary”.
