Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered authorities to take strict measures against holes and officials to artificially inflate prices Pakistan Associated Press (APP).
Speaking at a revision meeting on Friday, the Prime Minister spoke concerned about the rise in sugar prices and underlined the government’s commitment to ensure fair prices.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said the government would not tolerate speculation or hoard that would artificially lead to the cost of sugar. He ordered a complete repression of profiteers and hobby, with a report on the action to be presented after the operation.
The Prime Minister also asked officials to closely monitor the supply and demand for sugar, stressing that there are an adequate quantity of products available in the country. He also ordered the authorities to strengthen their communication with sweets to ensure appropriate surveillance.
Addressing the question during the sacred month of Ramadan, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the government would not allow any public exploitation. He urged the chief secretaries of the four provinces to ensure that sugar is provided to people at fixed prices and approved by the government.
