Lahore:
The chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, said that the provincial government made arrangements to celebrate the religious and cultural festivals of minorities at the official level.
In her message on the occasion of Holi, she said: “Pakistan is a beautiful mixture of communities of different religions where everyone has equal rights and opportunities.”
The chief minister said: “Punjab is a land of Sufi, love and tolerance where each community benefits from total respect and freedom.”
She added: “We create a punjab where each citizen feels safe, empowered and equal.”
Head Minister Maryam Nawaz said: “The Punjab government takes practical measures for the protection and well-being of minorities. Education, health, employment and other basic facilities are also provided to members of minority communities.”
She said that subsidies to celebrate the religious festivals of minorities had been increased.
She added: “Protection of goods and the life of minorities is ensured by declaring a red line”.
