An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad declared the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar and Farrukh Habib as abstracts in the cases linked to the attack on the judicial complex because of their repeated absence of numerous court hearings.

ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra presided over the hearing against PTI leaders.

The court also published arrest warrants against Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Raja Basharat and several other absent in the case.

After the presence of the available accused, the court postponed other hearings on the two cases until April 7.

PTI leaders face two cases recorded at the Ramna police station linked to the incident.

The case arose from an incident that occurred during the appearance of the PTI president, Imran Khan, in the Islamabad judicial complex, where he asked for a deposit in several cases.

A large number of supporters of PTI gathered on the site, deleted the safety barriers, damaged the front door of the complex and disrupted the legal proceedings.

Following the event, the Islamabad police recorded a terrorism case against those involved, invoking article 7 of the anti-terrorism law (ATA), as well as article 353 of the Pakistan Code (PPC), which concerns the obstruction of an official in the exercise of his functions.

The authorities said that the attack had been premeditated, some political figures encouraging the crowd.

Several people have been arrested, the police cover a Kalashnikov and other weapons of those detained. Raids were made in different provinces to understand additional suspects.

Authorities said government property had been vandalized during the attack, but credited the police for managing to prevent the situation from getting more to the High Court of Islamabad.
