Armed thieves in Karachi have snatched Rs 2.5 million from a businessman from the farm and shot his security guard during the flight.
The security goalkeeper was seriously injured, with a ball injury to the head and was transferred to critical condition at Jinnah hospital.
The businessman, who runs a poultry farm, was about to drop the money in a bank with his security agent when the incident occurred.
While driving near Korangi No.2, a Suzuki Alto car blocked their path and armed thieves in the car demanded the money. When the businessman resisted, the thieves opened fire and fled the scene. The ball struck the security guard at the head, leaving him seriously injured.
The incident took place just when Eidul-Fitr approaches, with an increase in street crimes and theft in the city. Police were alerted to the incident, and SSP Korangi and other police officers reached the scene quickly.
Investigators in crime scene were called upon to collect evidence and the police gathered video surveillance images in the region. The injured security guard was identified as Amir Ahmed, 35.
According to SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz, the victim, Farhan, headed for the bank with his friend Basheer and the security guard when they were caught by three to four armed thieves.
The thieves, who were in a white alto car, stole the Rs 2.5 million and fled after the shooting. The victim said the thieves were armed and quickly escaped after the crime.
Police launched an investigation using technical and human information and conducted the region’s PK Press Club-closet. Police hopes that over the next 24 hours, they will be able to find the suspects involved in the flight.
Farhan, the businessman of the poultry, confirmed that he was about to deposit the money at the bank when the armed thieves blocked their car and took the money. He mentioned that the thieves were three to four in number and went up to an alto white car.
Last week, armed thieves have looted more than 1.15 million rupees from the people of the Peoples bus service in Gulshan-E-Hadeed in Karachi, holding them under the threat of a firearm in an attack at the end of the evening.
According to driver Sher Jan, the flight took place at the last stop of the bus service, where he and other employees rested. Six attackers arrived in a vehicle, with two staying inside while four entered the premises. One of them wore a mask.
