- Air iPhone 17 could start at $ 899
- It is the same price as the iPhone 16 Plus
- It could also have a battery life for equality with current iPhones
Although we do not yet know much about the air of the iPhone 17, we fear that its superb design would have indicated both a high price and poor battery life – but the latest aerial news of the iPhone 17 suggests that none of these things will be the case.
According to Apple Watcher Mark Gurman, writing in its newsletter Bloomberg (via Macrumors), the iPhone 17 air will start $ 899 in the United States. Now, it’s not exactly cheap, but it’s exactly the same price as the iPhone 16 Plus, which would probably make it the second most crumpled iPhone 17 model after the base iPhone 17.
If this price complaint is correct, there is a good chance that air iPhone 17 will also have the same starting price as the iPhone 16 Plus elsewhere, which means £ 899 in the United Kingdom and $ 1,599 in.
In the same room, Gurman claims that the lifespan of the iPhone 17 battery will be “tied with current iPhones”, despite the probable construction, probably leaving less space for a large battery. Gurman does not say how it will be done, but another recent iPhone 17 air leak has suggested that it would use “high density battery cells”.
In all cases, Gurman also details other specifications, saying that the iPhone 17 air will have a camera control button like the iPhone 16 series, and that his glasses will be about as thin as those of the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
In addition, he says that iPhone 17 air will have a 6.6 -inch screen at 120 Hz, a dynamic island, a single 48MP camera and an A19 chip rather than the A19 Pro that we expect the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The first iPhone without port
This is largely part of the things we have heard before – as well as an assertion that the phone will only be ESIM in the world – but it is interesting to note that Gurman also adds (via engadget) that Apple had initially planned to make the phone “completely without port” by not inclining a USB -C load port.
This plan has apparently been abandoned not for technical reasons, but to avoid the problems of the EU – which not so long ago, forced Apple’s hand by passing Lightning ports to USB -C. However, Gurman adds that we can still see an iPhone without port in the future.
We expect Apple to reveal the iPhone 17 air in September, alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 range.
