The judge of the Islamabad anti-terrorism court (ATC) said on Tuesday that public institutions in Pakistan were currently under the influence of “other powers”, expressing their concern concerning the lack of responsibility and cooperation in judicial matters, said Express News on Tuesday.

The remarks were made by judge Tahir Abbas Supra during a release hearing under bond for the Pakistani legislator Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Ali Shah. The judge criticized the accusation for omitting the required case file, wondering if it was a deliberate act.

“All the departments seem to be in the hands of certain other powers at the moment,” said the judge supra, referring to interference in state affairs.

When the prosecutor informed the court that the head of the investigation (IO) was in Mandi Bahauddin and had not returned, the judge questioned his responsibilities.

“To date, I do not understand the real responsibility of the accusation,” he said. “If the investigation does not appear, who is the responsibility?”

The prosecutor replied that their obligation to submit the case of the case only begins after having officially obtained it. In response, judge Supra expressed his frustration as to what he described as “stubbornness” of Islamabad prosecutors, who, according to him, “consider themselves equal to the judges”.

He warned that new delays in the submission of the case file could lead to the publication of opinions against the accusation.

“We all go through an unusual situation,” added the judge Supra, criticizing the state of governance and stressing the role of civil servants to ensure justice.

The hearing was adjourned until Tuesday to allow the investigation to present the necessary documents.
