- Microsoft seems to move the mouse options of the configuration panel inherited to the Settings application
- We do not yet know if it will happen to Windows 11, and for the moment it is simply hidden in the background of Windows Server
- However, it seems that it is likely to do, especially since Microsoft has a reader (very slow) in progress to migrate the configuration panel to the settings
Microsoft seems to tear another part from the Windows 11 control panel, moving it to the parameters application, while the slow death of the inherited panel continues.
This time, it is the mouse options of the configuration panel that are brought to the Settings application, although it should be noted that it is not yet a change in the tests for Windows 11.
In fact, the move is hidden in a new version of Windows Server (which emerged last week), so not even Windows 11 – but it is likely that if it happens with the first, this will happen in all Windows variants.
The discovery was made by Phantomofearth, a well -known presence in the world of Microsoft leaks on X, which found the indices of Windows Server Build 26376.
Hidden in Build 26376 (Out for Server): all the options of the Old Mouse Properties dialog box are now available in the settings, including pointer paths, personalization of the image of the shadow of the pointer and pointer! + Improve the precision speed / pointer of the pointer, already there, obtain new / update icons. pic.twitter.com/bw3esyiotjMarch 13, 2025
As the publication shows, the in -depth options in the Mouse Properties dialog box in the inherited configuration panel were moved to the parameters, including the trails and the customization of the pointer, and the possibility of stimulating the precision (or speed) of the pointer.
Windows recently noted this development and also stressed that these different features bits are currently dispersed on two different panels of the Settings application (Accessibility and Bluetooth & Devices).
What is just as clear, how are the options are more beautiful and cleaner now than they are safely installed in the parameter application, compared to the rather old appearance of the control panel, of course.
Analysis: mouse on
The dispersed nature of how it has been implemented so far (in the background) seems rather disorderly, but as indicated, it is not even in Windows 11, and the work is hidden in Windows Server. This means that Microsoft will probably organize things clearly when the move passes for tests for Windows 11 – if This is the case, I could add.
Hidden changes like this may not always be made, but it is logical to wear mouse options from the configuration panel. In fact, I would say that it has been expected for a long time, because it is a range of reasonably important choices, and what you get in the parameters at the moment for the adjustments related to the mouse is very naked (with a link to the rest of the options of the control panel, which seems very clumsy).
In addition, Microsoft clearly has a plan to lift and move the contents of the control panel to parameters, so that the first days are clearly numbered – even if this number is probably quite high.
Why do I say that? Because the control panel has a lot of things enough niche, but perhaps perhaps vital for some users – especially those of the business world – nestled under the hood. So, this is not a small task to navigate this labyrinth of features and decide what goes where and what could possibly need to get the chop.
The process of migrating the functionality of the configuration panel to the Settings application has been underway for a very long time now, and has been very slow. Indeed, Microsoft only launched this serious reader in 2020, when the configuration panel system page began to redirect users to the parameter application in Windows 10 – and things have evolved in a fairly soft way since.
I am even doubtful that Microsoft will be ready to fully be able to the configuration panel when the next Windows incarnation takes place, regardless of the Windows 11 successor.
In any case, as I have already said, I would not jump to the conclusions according to these indices in the Windows Server operating system. However, it seems likely that the in -depth mouse options are the next element of the control panel to move to Windows 11, although exactly how this transfer will be implemented, we will have to wait and see for the moment.
