In a shocking incident, a woman was burnt down by her own husband for having forbidden her to have relations with other women.
Rabia, the victim, was tortured before being assembled with petrol and set fire to the region of the city of Korangi Mehran. Rabia had married Waqas of her own choice two years ago, but her behavior had been embarrassing from the start of their lives together.
He beat her and tortured her often, and had relations with other women. On March 14, when Waqas did not return home until late at night, Rabia, tired of her husband’s behavior and infidelities, called a girl named Amina. Waqas answered the phone and started a verbal attack on Rabia.
He then returned home at 11:45 p.m., tortured and set fire to his wife, leaving her with 40% burns. When she was found, she was transported urgently to the Burns district of the civil hospital to receive medical treatments. Police made the victim’s statement on his deathbed.
The case was recorded two days later, on March 16, in the Korangi industrial zone police station according to the victim’s complaint under a murder attempt. The police then gave the case to the investigation police who arrested the accused during an operation in Azeem Pura on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, Rabia’s brother Muhammad Jamal revealed that Waqas had threatened if the incident was recorded, but he continues to ask his sister justice.
