London: A British teenager who killed three family members and planned to surpass the notorious American massacres to become “the most famous school shooter of the 21st century” was imprisoned on Wednesday for at least 49 years.

Nicholas Prosper, 18 at the time of the murders, used a shotgun to kill her mother Juliana Falcon, 48, Sister Giselle, 13, and her brother Kyle, 16, who also received more than 100 knife injuries, at their home in Luton, north of London, in September 2024.

“Your ambition was notoriety. You wanted to be posthumously known as the most famous school shooter in the world of the 21st century,” said judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb on Wednesday when she sentenced the now 19 years.

Prosper told the police during his arrest of his plan “Friday 13” to also kill dozens of students of four and five years and two teachers in a nearby primary school to which he had already attended, then himself.

He said that his goal was to carry out a more deadly attack than the American massacres of Sandy Hook and Virginia Tech, but that the plan was interrupted when his mother woke up before he could kill his family in their sleep.

The noisy struggle alerted neighbors, who called the police.

After killing it, he placed a novel with the title “How to kill your family” on his body.

“You have explicitly sought to imitate and surpass Adam Lanza, the 20 -year -old American who killed 20 children and six adults in Sandy Hook primary school in Newton, Connecticut in 2012,” said the judge.

“You have targeted 34 deaths, one more than the deadliest school of the past few times in the United States of America, in Virginia Tech in 2007,” she added.

Prosper had drawn classrooms from the Catholic primary school St Joseph de Luton and wrote a note next to him by reading “Kill All”.

“You have filmed yourself by acting the murder in the kitchen,” said the judge.

‘Totally shocked’

Prosper, who said experts have shown symptoms of autistic spectrum disorder (TSA), was sentenced to life, with a minimum duration of 49 years.

Given the already purged time, he will spend a minimum of 48 years and 177 days in prison.

“You remain very dangerous and you may never be released,” said the judge, adding that Prosper, who delayed the hearing by refusing to leave his cell, had shown no remorse.

After being invited to leave school in 2023, Prosper “existed in an online world, choosing few real contacts with the others,” said the court.

The analysis of his activity on the Internet revealed a fascination for “notorious murderers, the authors of mass school fire in the world and the rapists,” added the judge.

A declaration written by Ray Prosper, the father of the attacker and former husband of Juliana Falcon, told the court that “the pain of our loss will never be healed.

“When I heard the horrible news that day, part of my soul is also dead. It is a losing situation for all of us and we have lost four family members.”

The deputy chief of the Bedfordshire police, John Murphy, said that the local police were “completely shocked and dismayed by the drustable actions of this individual”.
