Acer has announced seven new Chromebook laptops in its wide range of productivity and affordable media.
Announced in a press release, the Acer Chromebook Plus and Acer Chromebook Plus corporate devices have been described as the “ideal choice for technology enthusiasts, young professionals, students and teachers”.
The seven newly announced Acer Chromebook models have integrated Google, and he said that the functionality of the machines “doubles speed, memory and storage” when “compared to previous models”.
Prices vary from € 329 (around $ 430 / £ 275) to € 729 (around $ 800 / £ 610) with the Acer Chromebook Tab 311 at the lower end and the Acer Chromebook more Enterprise 514 at the upper end of the spectrum. Availability starts from May to July 2025, the official prices and availability of the United States and the United Kingdom likely to be revealed closer to the time.
From the Acer Chromebook Plus range, it includes three new laptops, all with Intel Core ultra processors inside. The consumer offer is the Acer Chromebook plus 514, with an Intel Core 3 N355 processor, a 14 -inch WUXGA display and a 1080p webcam. A version is also available with an Intel Core 7 processor, a QHD webcam (1440p) and a lifespan claimed at 17 hours.
The Acer Chromebook Plus 516 uses a 16 -inch Wuxga display, with a 1080p and Google AI webcam inside. The three models include 12 months of advanced Google Gemini, 2 TB of cloud storage and other advantages of the Google One premium plan as standard.
The Enterprise Chromebook Plus Acer range is also available in three configurations; Enterprise 514 is available with an Intel Core 3 N355 or Intel Core 7 processor, a 14 -inch screen and the choice of a 1080p or QHD webcam (1440p).
The Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise 516 also has an Intel Core 7 processor, a 16 -inch Wuxga screen and a QHD webcam. The biggest difference seems to be the weight and thickness compared to the beach plus, being 3 lb (1.4 kg) of weight and less than 18 mm (0.7 inches) thick.
The latest of the newly announced Acer chromebooks is the revised TAB 311 model. Unlike other models, it is not fueled by an Intel Core Ultra processor but the Kompanio 520 processor, proven Mediatek Kompanio, with a storage of 128 GB and an LPDDRX memory up to 8 GB.
Despite the low -end specifications, it has a 10.95 inch IPS IPS screen, it will therefore look like the game with its humble specifications which are more than sufficient for workloads on the Google ecosystem web.
Chromebooks are becoming more and more powerful
The latest Acer range could be fast enough to compete with some of the best chromebooks available in 2025, in particular models using an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. Traditionally, Chromebooks are low -end affordable laptops for children, students and professionals, because Chromeos is exclusively based on the web, which means that there is not necessarily a need for power that defines macbooks and Windows based.
That said, the use of Intel Core ultra processors means that the latest Acer chromebooks will be considerably faster in web navigation, media reading, word processor and other productivity tasks unlike the old Intel Celeron and Mediatek processors that we usually see in machines costing $ 300 / £ 300 £ $ 700 / £ 700
With the approximate prices revealed parallel to availability, it looks like chromebooks because viable alternatives to Windows and Mac machines will offer more competition. According to the specifications provided, they seem to be a good value, but we will not know how they work and compare themselves to their competitors until we become practically later in the year.
For the way the high intensity chrome of the RAM (and chrome browsers) can be, it seems that a little more power has long been expected. Although they are unlikely to compete with the best laptops and the best ultrabooks, they ring like solid offers for the consumer concerned with the portfolio wishing a value for money.
