- Sirui joins the L-Mount alliance with Panasonic, Leica and more
- The first Sirui L-Mount product will be an Aurora 85 mm portrait objective
- More objectives in the promised before the end of 2025
The L -MOUNT Alliance has just announced the addition of a new member – and this is a fantastic new for lovers of cheap and high quality objectives.
The manufacturer of Chinese lentils SIRUI has become the last company to register for the booming technical and strategic partnership, which started in 2018 with the founders Leica, Panasonic, Sigma and Ernst Leitz Wetzlar, adding Dji, Astrodesign, Samyang and Blackmagic Design to its ranks in the years of interpretation. In addition to dozens of objectives, there are currently about 20 L -cameras in the market on the market, including the Panasonic Lumix S1R II, Leica SL3, DJI Ronin 4D, Blackmagic Pyxis 6K and New Sigma BF.
Sirui’s membership means that it will now start to develop lenses from the first part for the L -mounting system, starting with the Aurora 85 mm f / 1.4, a portrait premium with the autofocus (a rarity for Sirui) and weighing only 504g.
Enterable affordable glass
The Aurora is already available in the variants of Nikon Z, Sony E and Fujifilm X Mount to an RRP of $ 499 / £ 456 £ / 763 $, which is extremely affordable for a first rapid first frame. And with most of the relatively cheap Sirui objectives, the addition of the company to the L-MOUNT Alliance looks excellent news for the owners of the Thrifty cameras. In addition to the objectives still focused on photography like Aurora, Sirui makes a wide range of cinema lenses, so that the filmmakers L-Mount can have a new high quality glass at their disposal for too long.
Sirui revealed the news of the imminent arrival of Aurora L-Mount in an article on Facebook, without confirming a release date. However, with the position also claiming that other Sirui Autofocus objectives will join Mount before the end of 2025, it does not seem that we will have too long to wait.
