A court ordered that 25 students be sent to prison for trying to settle in the United Kingdom using fraudulent visas.
The Islamabad district and sessions court rejected the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) request for an extension of students’ pre -trial detention and rather placed them in police custody for 14 days.
The suspects were presented to the judicial magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal. Prosecutors alleged that the students had falsified passports in order to enter and settle in the United Kingdom.
During the hearing, the defense lawyers filed requests for surety for the accused. The court has published opinions to all parties and has planned the next hearing for March 24, during which it will hear legal arguments on the issue.
