- Silicon Motion 128TB SSD RDK optimizes AI pipelines with improved data management
- Performance technology increases the efficiency of SSDs for workloads focused on AI
- The PCIe Gen 5 speeds of Montitan SSD improve the flow of corporate data
Silicon Motion, a Nand Flash Leader controller designer, began to provide its SSD reference design kit of 128 TB (RDK), to select partners after almost three years of testing since its initial ad in 2022.
This large SSD kit, uses the latest Die QLC NAND at 2 TB, is built on the Montitan PCIe Gen 5 platform, and offers advanced firmware to maximize the performance and efficiency of IA tool workloads, making it one of the best external conceptions available.
The RDK Montitan, designed for the use of companies and data centers, offers sequential reading speeds exceeding 14 GB / S, the classification among the fastest external SSDs, with random reading performance of more than 3.3 million PIO for an effective data debit. The kit uses the SM8366 double -quality PCIe quality SM8366 controller with support for the PCIE Gen 5 X4 NVME 2.0 and OCP 2.5 data center specifications.
High -speed storage that could shake the business market
RDK’s high -speed performance offers an improvement of 25% of random reading efficiency compared to other Gen 5 solutions, which makes it particularly well suited to AI applications such as the formation calculations of the Grand Language Language model (LLM) and the graphic neural network (GNN).
In addition, the reader’s design uses NVME 2.0 FDP (Flexible Data Placement) to improve writing and endurance efficiency, extending the life of the NAND QLC.
“The Montitan SSD RDK of Silicon Motion offers a complete solution for our customers, allowing them to develop and quickly deploy business class SSDs adapted to Data Center and Edge Server applications.” said Alex Chou, main vice-president of the company storage and business display interface.
“By providing this fully integrated platform which supports up to 128 TB SSD with QLC NAND, we allow our customers and solutions to accelerate the development and marketing of the growing requirements of the high-capacity and high performance storage solution.”
Silicon motion owner performance technology optimizes SSD performance as a function of service quality parameters (QOS) defined by the user, reducing latency. The new RDK could play a crucial role in the AI storage and data center infrastructure, optimizing multi-local environments by effectively managing AI data pipeline stages such as ingestion, preparation, training and inference.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Silicon Motion in the development of our latest corporate ssd for servers and AI data centers. With the SSD SSD Enterprise development platform of Silicon Motion, we have the flexibility to design business SSDs that offer advanced performance,” said CC Wu, vice-president of Innovisk.
Frank Chen, the CEO of Execence, said: “In the AI explosion era, data storage is more critical than ever. Thanks to this collaboration with the silicon movement, we have developed an SSD PCIe Gen 5 adapted to AI servers, guaranteeing stable reading and writing speeds with effective data management, perfectly meeting the storage requirements.”
