The Punjab government has announced the Eidul Fitr holidays for all educational establishments, confirming that schools will remain closed from March 28.
According to the Minister of Education of Punjab, public and private schools will observe the holidays.
School secretary Khalid Wattoo said public schools will reopen on April 7, while annual results will be declared on April 4.
The decision comes as the Pakistan meteorological department provides that Eidul Fitr falls on March 31 on Monday.
The break allows students and teachers to celebrate the festival before the start of the new academic year.
Earlier, the federal government officially announced the holidays on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, granting a three -day break.
According to a notification issued by the firm division on Wednesday, the holidays will start from Monday March 31 to Wednesday April 2.
In addition, with the aim of limiting the overload scholarships during Eidul Fitr, the Sindh government has canceled the holidays of all the officers and staff of the transport department, ensuring that they remain in service throughout the festive period.
The main minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the decision on Saturday, declaring that transport officials will monitor the prices in the context of a province’s scale against carriers, invoicing excessive rates.
“The surcharging complaints are common during Eid, and we are committed to ensuring that citizens are not forced to pay more than officially approved prices,” said Memon.
Sindh Transport Authority agents, as well as regional and district transport organizations, will be deployed to quickly treat complaints. The Minister warned that strict measures would be taken against offenders at prices regulations.
He urged the public to report any excessive prices collection incident so that the authorities can react immediately.
