- Windows 11 has a new update, although it is optional (in preview) for the moment
- It provides really practical features, including a significant accessibility adjustment for a central part of the Windows 11 interface
- The new PC specification cards in the Settings application are a surprise addition, going through the test very quickly – although without the FAQ function function
Microsoft has just published a new update for Windows 11, although optional (still in preview), and it offers useful work – not to mention a surprise.
Windows The last reported the changes that are part of the March preview update for Windows 11 23:2:2h (known as KB5053657). They include smoothing of accessibility wrinkles in File Explorer and the addition of PC SPE information cards that have already been seen in the tests.
With regard to Explorer file – which is the application that feeds the windows that display your folders and your files in them, on the desktop – those of you who use larger text sizes for better visibility in this part of the interface have undoubtedly noticed that the scaling of the text is not uniform here.
In other words, only certain parts of File Explorer have the specified text scale of the applied user, and certain texts, or even parts of the buttons such as the interface, remain too small (without scaling).
Obviously, it is embarrassing and useless, and it seems simply disorderly, but fortunately, Microsoft has corrected this so that the scaling is properly applied to all the elements of File Explorer, in accordance with the tests carried out by Windows later.
By switching to new specific cards, these were spotted during the tests at the beginning of 2025, but seem to have been set up very quickly, by commuting by tests and in this new optional update. It is indeed a pleasant surprise, and these cards provide information in pledge on your CPU, RAM, storage and graphic card – although it does not yet seem to be implemented that the FAQ element has been implemented.
Another significant change with KB5053657 is the new provision of the Gamepad keyboard, which allows you to type using the virtual keyboard of Windows 11 with an Xbox controller (including button shortcuts for the space bar, deletion, etc.).
Finally, there is a new Emoji button on the taskbar, which pulls the Emoji combined panel, GIF and clipboard. This is an optional feature, so you can deactivate the icon in the settings if you will never use it. Oh, and the functionality of voice access in Windows 11 now has the management of the Chinese language (for simplified and traditional Chinese).
Remember that it is for Windows 11 23:2:2h, and we have not yet seen the release of the new update for 24h2 (although it is probably imminent, and it will probably arise later during the day). He should make these same changes, and perhaps more and more.
Analysis: CAUTION> Valor with preview updates, especially since the waiting of the full version will not be long
This is a very interesting update, therefore being given its accessibility improvements and this GamePad keyboard. The latter will be very useful for those who perform Windows 11 on a game pocket computer (and this is a sign that Microsoft may think of this full portable mode for Windows 11, which has been supposed to be supposed for some time).
It is also good to have the specification cards, and I cannot believe how fast they have transformed from a hidden functionality which is not even visible during the tests to switch to an optional update. I suppose that it is a relatively easy work to implement (it must have been), although the FAQ section – providing tailor -made advice, which do not show it yet – will be the key element (as I recently discussed). With a little luck, this additional feature will be incorporated here for too long.
If you want to see these new brilliant things, I must warn you that installing an overview is not without potential dangers. These features remain in the tests and could always be bancantes, even if it is the very last stage of the tests, and nothing is too likely to be seriously bad (these could be last famous words, of course).
Generally, unless you are great for one of the above features, I would wait next month for the full version. It is at this point that this preview update will become the April 8 cumulative update for Windows 11, and it is not far now (it will be April 8, it is a start for upgrade next month).
