Islamabad:
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, said that no visit to Israel was possible under existing regulations using the Pakistan passport which was not valid for this purpose.
The spokesperson, answering the media questions, said the government of Pakistan noted reports on Pakistani journalists traveling to Israel.
“In this regard, it is specified that Pakistani passports explicitly declare that they are” not valid for travel to Israel. “Consequently, no visit of this type is possible under existing regulations,” he explained.
The spokesman said Pakistan’s position on Israel had remained unchanged.
Pakistan does not recognize Israel and firmly supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the frontiers before 1967, with al-Quds al-Sharif as capital, he added.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s unshakable commitment to a just and peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
