University basketball: Dick Vitale says that Nile, the transfer portal is “a major problem”

Dick Vitale said that university basketball has a “major problem” with Nile and the transfer portal.

Vitale, 85, discussed the state of academic basketball during a recent appearance on “don’t @ me with Dan Dakich d’Outkick”.

“I think we have done chaos in university basketball. Total chaos. Stability is out of control. This is the West West. Do you know in a day of opening the portal, which should never, never open at the heart of the NCAA tournament, is a joke,” said Vitale.

“But the essential is more than a thousand entries in the portal, and they ask:” How much money will I get? “Everyone continues dollars.

“I made a game recently. A child (played on) four schools. Four schools. What’s going on? I do not know your feelings, but I think the transfer portal and the Nile need certain rules. They need a few rules. You know it is the best free agency right now in all sports, even if you are a professional athlete.

While Vitale is concerned about the transfer portal and zero, he said that the players deserved to make money.

“I think that, you know, the main thing is that there is no doubt that the players deserve money with the money earned. But I thought it would be essentially, you make an advertisement, you make an appearance, you are paid for that. I am never in my wildest dreams … But millions of dollars, millions,” said vital.

“And what happened there, take a look at the Sweet 16. No team, mid -May, has no luck, really. Because of the dollars – the Nile Dollars – the big guys will absolutely dominate.”

Vitale led to the University of Detroit and explained how, if Nil existed then, his best players may not have stayed.

“I said to people when I was in Detroit, we were pretty good, guy. We won 21 consequences. We beat Marquette. We were national champions the year we beat them on their court. We beat Arizona. We beat good teams,” said Vitale.

“We had four NBA players who were in my program. When I think of Terry Tyler, John Long, Sitting, but these guys would have been. They would have gone to Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana. They would have been because we could never have the dollars to pay them. So, I think, we really had a major problem.”
