Islamabad:
The Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has informed the National Education and Training Committee of the National Assembly according to which 30 public sector development program (PSDP) are planned for completion this year.
During the Na sign meeting, the president of the HEC said that 10 of these projects concerned the programs of laptops and scholarships. Although some have been approved, they remain pending due to a lack of funding.
Speaking at the meeting, the rector of the University of Nutech said that his establishment had sent 80 students to Japan. He said that around 300 government buildings were vacant in Balutchistan and that Nutech reused one of these buildings to establish a new campus.
“We have to focus on expanding existing university campuses rather than the creation of new universities,” he said.
The Committee also discussed the question of building the inn from Quaid-Ezam University without ADC approval. A planning and development official said that the ADC member was part of the University Committee, adding that formal approval will be taken from the ADC.
