A public service model

While the sacred month of Ramazan, filled with blessings and mercy, approaches its conclusion, the Punjab government remains firm in its mission to relieve citizens maximum. Under the direction of chief minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial administration worked tirelessly to ensure quality facilities and affordable essential elements for this sacred month.

Historically, Ramazan in Punjab as elsewhere – was marked by high price increases and shortages of essential items. However, this year, the chief minister and his team rewritten this story. In neighborhoods and markets, citizens recognize, a lot for the first time, that the prices of grocery store, fruits and vegetables have remained stable, with many supplies available at reasonable prices.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, his office and district administrations through Punjab have personally monitored the Bazars of Ramazan and the general markets to inspect the quality and price of goods. When the CEO of the province is actively committed to the field to relieve the common citizen, the impact is tangible. People experience this first -hand help not only, but also openly express gratitude for a government which favors action on hollow promises. For Maryam Nawaz, governance does not concern great slogans or empty philosophies – it is a question of working at the base and providing real advantages to the people.

This year, the Punjab government has introduced two historic programs: the Ramazan Nigahban package and the Ramazan Sahulat bazaars. Unlike previous years, when only a handful of subsidized items were available in Ramazan’s Bazaars – which often led to long queues for flour and sugar – this year Bazaars Sahulat has provided transparent experience. In total, 80 bazaars of Sahut Ramazan were established through Punjab, offering not only flour and sugar, but also a wide range of essentials in abundant quantities. More than 12 million citizens have benefited from these bazaars, without shortage or indicated chaotic lines.

Based on the success of the delivery of the rationing of last year’s doors, the Punjab government has distributed 10,000 rupees per family this year to three million deserving households as part of the Nigahban package. The transparent disbursement of 30 billion of aid rupees – without political favoritism or bureaucratic delays – testifies to the effectiveness of the administration. Eligible families have been recorded through a merit -based system, without interference from political representatives. This worthy approach assured that help has reached those who really needed it.

While Punjab’s initiatives have established a reference, the rescue efforts of the government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa tell a different story. The KP cabinet approved a package of 10 billion rupees halfway across Ramazan, with funds that have been distributed between members of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf and the Loyalists. The reports suggest that the ordinary citizens of KP have not received any substantial compensation, exposing the disparity between allegations of “change” and real governance.

Under the direction of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab launched more than 80 public protection projects without a single allegation of corruption – a rarity in the political landscape of Pakistan.

This reflects a governance model anchored in integrity, public service and responsibility. When leaders prioritize people’s well-being, manage public funds transparently and confirm merit, the results speak for themselves.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif has redefined the public service in Punjab, establishing a new standard for proactive and compassionate governance. The overwhelming public assessment for Ramazan’s initiatives underlines their success. While the province is looking to the future, citizens are optimistic that this momentum of service and relief will continue over the next four years. For the moment, Ramazan 2025 in Punjab will remain in memories not only as a month of spiritual reflection but as an important step in governance centered on people.

Depending on the words of a citizen, “when the intentions are pure and leadership is engaged, even the most difficult challenges turn into service possibilities”.
