- Micro Center suddenly has stock charges of an ASUS RTX 5090 GPU
- This card is stupidly 85% dear compared to the PDSF, however, therefore rather than an improved offer, this is probably more a reflection of this price requested
- That said, there is a certain hope that the RTX 5080 supply will improve a little, so that we can keep our fingers there
An ASUS version of the NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU was spotted on the shelves of a large American retailer, which might make you think that perhaps the drought of the stock for the flagship is finished – but I doubt that this is the case.
Nevertheless, it is a novelty to see such a stack of Blackwell graphics cards on the shelves, and there are also some positive tips on the RTX 5080 stock – which I will come back later. All of this comes to a Reddit article which shared a photo of a store of micro-central bricks and mortar in Dallas (see below) which Videocardz pointed out.
Microcenter Dallas has obtained tons of 5090 Astral Liquid in today from R / NVIDIA
Of course, this is probably not a case of sudden supply, or the production lines of Nvidia which run for the flagship of Blackwell – it is rather (surely) a lack of demand, due to the exorbital price pinned on the board of directors of the Asus RTX 5090 in question.
This is the ASUS ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 OC publishing, which is certainly the high -end offer of the graphics card manufacturer – the LC refers to liquid cooling, and OC indicates that it is overclocked – but the price is always astronomical (or astral -nominal, perhaps, ahem) at $ 3,719.
It is 85% more expensive than the PDSF (Lofty) set by Nvidia, and it is even almost 10% more expensive than the requested price fixed by Asus on its own online store for this particular ROG model – and it is already scandalously high.
Yes, it is a high -end personalized card, and yes, there will always be a premium to pay in this case, for the improvements of the card and cooling which will help you (hope) to obtain a significantly better overclocks – but the difference will not be as much compared to an entry -level RTX 5090, in all probability.
And be forced to pay almost double for that? Well, even PC game enthusiasts will not do so, which is (probably) why all these RTX 5090 models are seated on the shelves – and will probably remain so for a certain time, until Micro Center adjusts its prices.
This will occur, of course, when the clamor of the RTX 5000 graphics cards will start to calm down, and the request does not prevail over the supply of such a huge factor.
Analysis: a glimmer of hope – but not for the RTX 5090
Okay, there is therefore a chance at all That the sudden appearance of a decent number of these Blackwell flagship graphics cards is an indication full of hope to improve stock levels? After all, the rumor said that the RTX 5090 towards the end of March, where we are now. I cannot see it, frankly – anyway in this micro center store, if we look at the main online retailers in the United States, the RTX 5090 stock remains non -existent. For the moment, the flagship GPU can only be obtained in local stores.
However, the Reddit poster also notes that there are RTX 5080 GPUs in abundant stock in this micro -center – although we did not see them, or at what price in which they are. I suppose that there will be no boards at the PDSF level, but there is a glimmer of hope here at that at the time of writing, there are some RTX 5080 models in stock to order online at Newegg.
As you would expect, they are not close to the PDSF, so it’s not yet a cause for a real celebration – the cheapest model (of three boards available currently) is $ 1,3660, which is the MSI Ventus 3X RTX 5080. It is always 36% above the MSRP of $ 999, of course, but nevertheless, even if I check the availability of blacks.
I would not be carried away by this notion, but maybe we start to turn a (light) corner here – although clearly not with the RTX 5090 stock, with really ridiculous price inflation, it was always very well the flagship of Blackwell.
