Until now, this has been a bit of a supposition game as long as a user interface 7 (the Samsung version of Android 15) would go to Galaxy devices beyond the Samsung Galaxy S25 series – but Samsung has now given us a certain clarity on the issue.
The last time we heard, an IU 7 was to start deploying on Monday 7 April – with Samsung Galaxy S24 phones, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, all online (these were flagship phones that Samsung launched in 2024).
Now, graceful of Samsung Czechia (via Samambobile), it seems that we can expect the software update to appear on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Fe, the Samsung Galaxy S23 phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 from Thursday, April 17.
The press release (put via Google Translate) also indicates that the Galaxy S23 FE and the Galaxy S22 series will obtain a 7-coming user interface in the “weeks to come”, while the deployment of the Galaxy Tab S10 series is due in “mid-April”, with Galaxy Tab S9 updates appearing a week later. Galaxy Tab S8 devices should start to see the software at the end of April.
A long time
There are some warnings to keep in mind here: update in the Czech Republic does not really start before Thursday, April 10, so other deployment dates around the world could vary. In addition, as far as we can say, the press releases of Samsung of its other international information rooms are not as specific with regard to dates.
However, this gives us a more specific idea of the moment when these software updates will start to appear – and it would be unusual for Samsung to repel the upgrades of these older devices in the Czech Republic and nowhere else.
It was a whole trip to get to this point, with a lot of delays and beta versions along the way, and it is a reminder that if you want Android updates before someone else, you need one of the best Pixel phones – Pixel 9 phones obtained Android 15 in October 2024.
Among the new IU 7 features are the bar now, to provide important real -time updates to the locking screen, and the present, a summary fueled by the AI of your day – although Samsung has not confirmed if all the features of the IU 7 will go to all the devices.
