The 29-year-old opening striker was injured when he was fed during the first ODI of his team against New Zealand at the McLean Park in Napier on Friday.
MRI confirmed a low -grade tear, which makes USMAN unavailable for the second ODI scheduled for April 2 at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, in accordance with the declaration.
The Pakistan team is in New Zealand for an ODI series of three games that the Kiwis lead by 1-0. After competing on Wednesday for the second match, the teams will meet for the last ODI on Saturday April 5 at the Bay Oval.
