Rawalpindi: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, passes his third consecutive EID UL FITR inside Adiala prison, where strict security measures have prevented him from offering Eid prayers.
Khan, faced with accusations ranging from the leak of state secrets for the sale of state gifts, has been involved in 100 cases and has been imprisoned since August 2023.
While Eid Prayers took place at the prison central mosque, Khan could not join security problems. His wife, Bushra Bibi, who is also incarcerated, remained in his cell during prayers.
Other detainees, prisoners of Sousseai and prison officials participated in the congregation.
To guarantee the security of large -scale prison, a three -day special security plan has been implemented.
According to sources, eight additional security checkpoints were installed on roads leading to Adiala prison, with nearly 200 officers and staff deployed. Security staff will exercise in three teams under the supervision of SP Saddar Nabeel Khokhar.
Authorities have strengthened security to counter any potential protest of PTI supporters outside the prison. A reserve force has also been deployed, while the police were equipped with riot equipment.
Meanwhile, before Eid Ul Fitr, the personal effects of the founder of PTI Khan were delivered to the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi. According to sources, the articles sent for the founder of the PTI include four new outfits for Eid, a pair of shoes and a vest.
