The Foundation of Prince Harry Invictus Games (IGF) made a major announcement after the Duke resigned as the boss of a charity with “Heavy Hearts”.
Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso published a joint declaration to reveal their “devastating” decision concerning the resignation of Sentebale, saying “with a heavy heart, we have resigned from our roles as the organization’s customers until further notice.”
A few days after Harry’s decision, the IGF announced: “The Invictus Games Foundation now accepts the expressions of interest in potential cities to host the 2029 Invictus Games.
“The opening of the process for the Invictus 2029 games was announced at the Invictus Vancouver Whistler 2025 games.”
The Declaration also indicates: “Cities wishing to organize Invictus Games are necessary to provide the Invictus Games Foundation with a submission of 2 to 3 pages of an expression of interest (EOI) describing: proposed impact, vision and inheritance; infrastructure; funding; governance. “
The deadline to submit an EOI is no later than May 16, 2025.
The Invictus Games have taken place 7 times in the past 10 years, the previous hosts being London, Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, The Haye, Düsseldorf and Vancouver Whistler.
