- Apple cannot bring iOS 19 to the iPhone XR, XS or XS Max
- This leak contradicts the previous reports on the update of the software
- The 7th generation iPad apparently does not receive iPados 19
In December, a leak promised that the owners of the iPhone XR, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max would get iOS 19 alongside the rest of the iPhone range. But a new leak from a fairly reliable source now says that this is not true.
This leak passes via 9TO5MAC, whose source – an anonymous private account on X with good history in Breaking Apple Software Stories – says that the XR, XS and XS Max will not be invited to the IOS 19.
The new leak also seems to confirm that the iPad of the seventh generation, launched in 2019, will not be able to obtain an upgrade of iPados 19.
What iPhones get the iOS 19 upgrade?
Nothing is official until Apple the ad at WWDC 2025, which, as we know, will start on June 9. But if the last leak is correct, then the oldest iPhone that iOS 19 will support is the iPhone 11. IPhone SE phones, the second and generation versions will get the upgrade.
If Apple sticks to its usual calendar, we should see a beta developer from iOS 19 in June, with various public beta before a final outing alongside the iPhone 17 in September 2025.
The details of the IOS 19 improvements have not yet been published, but of course, the leaks have already started. We expect to see a visual overhaul that combines iOS and iPados more closely with Visionos, a new camera application, and perhaps even a version of Siri that works more reliable.
This is an important update for Apple: iOS 18 was launched by emphasizing Apple Intelligence, and some of the most discussed features have been considerably delayed. This means that iOS 19 must do more than make promises of future pleasure; He must really deliver.
