The WNBA celebrated the day of transgender visibility on Monday, and one of its coaches seemed to take a hit by President Donald Trump.
Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve published a statement saying that there had been “executive and legislative attacks” against transgender persons.
“On this day of transgender visibility, a period of climbing of executive and legislative attacks trying to deny health care, education and fundamental freedoms; a period of epidemic violence, in particular against black and brown trans women – we are celebrating trans and non -binary people everywhere.

The team also published a photo of Reeve carrying a shirt that said “Protect trans children”.
The league posted X on its support for transgender people. This coincided with the last day of the month of women’s history. The position sparked reactions from female sports defenders who defended title IX and efforts to keep biological men outside of girls and female sports.
Four years on the day of the Reeve declaration and the team’s position, Reeve wrote an editorial in Sports Illustrated: “We all win when the Trans athletes are included.”

“When we welcome all female athletes, including athletes from transgender women, to bring their authentic myself to the game, we are stronger as individual players and in teams,” she wrote. “Transgender exclusion opposes female athletes against each other, reinforces the harmful notion that there is only one good way to be a woman and distracts us from real threats to female sports.”
Reeve also wrote that a Powerlifter Transgender forbidden to compete “simply cannot bear.”
The WNBA celebrated the day of transgender visibility more than a month after Trump signed the executive decree “No Men in Women’s Sports” in February. The NCAA has changed its policy of sex participation, but criticisms have underlined the gaps in.
The Trump administration also faced Officials of the Maine School Due to the refusal of the state to reverse its policy on transgender athletes participating in the sports of girls and women. The Office of Civil Health and Social Services has referred to the “non-compliance of the State with title IX”.
