- The Garmin Vivoactive 6 was officially revealed
- It looks very much like the vivoactive 5, but some specifications upgrade offer improvements
- This comes after strong criticisms from Garmin users on the new Conenct + Premium level
Garmin revealed the Garmin Vivoactive 6, an affordable smartwatch with a new Smart-Wake alarm functionality and access to the higher-end Garmin watch features, such as the execution of the dynamics. It is at the price of £ 279.99 (about $ 360 / $ 580 in; the exact prices of the United States and the AU ET TBC).
Garmin’s vivoactive line is full of sports watches and focused on the Crowd of Apple Watch, and the Vivoactive Garmin 5 is enough as our current choice of “Best value” on our list of the best Garmin watches.
The Vivoactive 6 Watch 6 looks a lot like the Garmin Vivoactive 5, with a plastic case, an aluminum telescope, two buttons instead of the usual five -button configuration found on higher -end boars, an AMOLED screen and a silicone strap.
Like the Vivoactive 5, the Vivoactive 6 sports up to 11 days of battery life. He shares the dimensions and the 1.2 inch screen with the Vivoactive 5, although Garmin has made some modifications.
Among the upgraded points is a “smart alarm” feature that can wake you up at the optimal time during a sleep phase – a new feature for Garmin, and the one we wanted on Garmins for years – as well as daily suggested walking training in the direction of its shopping.
As mentioned above, the Vivoactive 6 also has access to the advanced measures of advanced racing dynamics of Garmin, which the Vivoactive 5 did not.
According to a press release from Garmin, users “can also download a robust selection of trainers step by step for strength, HIIT, yoga, pilates, mobility and more via Garmin Connect.
“They can also access running plans and Garmin Force Training – several of which adapt daily depending on performance, recovery and health measures to help users prepare for their next race, train for an important step or improve the overall physical form.”
A wheelchair mode which follows the shoots and which was one of the best modes introduced on the Vivoactive 5, is also included.
The Vivoactive 6 is available in four catchment colors with catchy appearance: black / slate, bone / gold Lunar, Green Jasper and Dawn Rose.
Analysis: Garmin moves the news cycle on
The Garmin Vivoactive 6 seems to be a big watch, especially since it is cheaper than many of his contemporaries in Apple and Samsung. After all, we loved the Vivoactive 5, and nothing indicates that it is something other than an improvement, although iterative.
However, I can’t help but feel that the chronology of this launch may have been pushed up. In the past few days, the information cycle has been dominated by the counter coupling against Garmin for the release of Garmin Connect +, a new higher quality level paid with AI functionalities available separately with the Garmin Connect Free application.
Users went to social networks to complain about paying a very expensive watch only for new features to be locked behind an additional subscription. Rightly or not, they fear that new features be introduced to connect + to the detriment of the free version of the application, until the subscription becomes effectively essential in order to make the most of your watch.
A new well -received budgetary system from Garmin would help move the news cycle, although user anger is probably easily assumed in the short term.
