San Diego’s star aerobatman signed the star aerobed in nine -year contract on Wednesday, worth $ 135 million.
Merrill, 21, finished last year second in the rookie of the year of the national and ninth league in the MVP NL race and was appointed to the NL All-Star team.

San Diego has an option of $ 21 million for 2034 which will become a player option at the same salary if it ends among the first five of MVP vote in any 2026-34 season, the AP reported.
Merrill would have been eligible for arbitration after the 2026 season and for the free agency after the World Series 2029.
In addition to the salary, Merrill will get a hotel suite during the team’s travel trips.

Last season, Merrill played 156 games and struck. 292 with 24 circuits, 90 products produced and 16 stolen bases while playing a strong defense in the central field. In seven games in playoffs, Merrill hit 0.250 with a home run and five products.
Merrill began his campaign in 2025 swinging a hot bat and struck 0.400 with a home run and six products produced, helping to feed the paadres at a 6-0 departure.

With the extension of the contract for Merrill, the Padres have their central field player and the right defender Fernando Tatis Jr. signed until 2034.
The Padres will try to continue their solid departure when they make a scan of three games from the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday at 4:10 pm.
