Pakistan has strongly condemned the aggression and continuous atrocities of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories, in particular in Gaza, declaring that the last military actions constitute war crimes under international law.

In a statement published Thursday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad criticized Israel’s “blind violence” which, according to him, had killed thousands of Palestinians, including women, children, medical staff and humanitarian workers.

The declaration also denounced the recent military pressure of Israel to seize new areas, in particular the illegal takeover of the Morag corridor.

He said the deliberate targeting of an unabled clinic in Jabalia – where more than 700 displaced civilians had sought refuge – was a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

The Pakistani government has expressed serious concerns about the assault on the Al-Aqsa mosque complex by Israeli forces during Eid-Un-Fitr, appeal to a sacrilege act and deliberate provocation.

“These actions, associated with the clear intention of Israel to ethically cleaning the Palestinians of their homeland, constitute war crimes,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The declaration also criticized the destruction of civil infrastructure and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, qualifying such actions “morally reprehensible and legally indefensible”.

Pakistan reaffirmed its support for Palestinian law to self-determination and reiterated its call to an independent and continuous Palestinian state on the basis of the fronts of 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as capital.

Islamabad urged the international community to act decisively to prevent new loss of life and protect religious sites.
