Cryptocurrency Exchange bybit, which was touched by a hacking of $ 1.45 billion six weeks ago, has teamed up with Zodia custody to strengthen its security offer for institutional customers.
Supported by a troop of traditional heavy goods vehicles (tradfi), including Standard Charterd, Zodia offers separate police custody and non -nène regulations.
This means that users can discuss the appeal while their assets remain in the custody of Zodia, thus reducing exposure to risks to exchange and preventing co-lodge of funds.
The attack on Bybit in February saw nearly $ 1.5 billion in stolen digital assets and was the largest hacking of an crypto exchange in dollars.
Such cases give a bloody nose to the prospects of increasing the institutional adoption of digital assets, hence the requirement of guard services similar to which institutions would expect in the tradfi world.
The CEO of the Zodia guard, Julian Sawyer, described his product as “guard and regulations built for institutions, not modernized for the crypto”, in an announcement sent by email on Thursday.
