A transgender athlete won first place in a university high jump competition during a meeting at Oregon high school on Wednesday, about two years after finishing last while competing with junior university boys, according to a report.
Lia Rose, which would be used to competing as Zachary, won the height jumping of the university relays of the Portland Interscholastic League with a height of 4 feet, 8 inch, beating second place with two inches.
According to Athletic.net, while he was in competition against JV boys on May 3, 2023, Zachary Rose finished 11th out of 11 competitors with a jump of 4 feet and 6 inches.

The winning height of this meeting was another foot higher.
According to the online archives, Zachary Rose participated in the category of boys in 2023. The following year, Lia Rose also participated in the same category. But this year, Lia Rose was listed as a competitor in the girls’ category.
In 2024, Lia mainly competed against JV Boys, with a higher finish of second place and a personal record of 5 feet.
Zachary competed in the second year on the track with a superior finish of second in a 3,000 -meter JV race, but there were only two competitors. Zachary lost over a minute.

The 4 -foot and 8 inch brand of Lia on Wednesday is listed as a “personal file”.
A spokesperson for Portland public schools could not confirm or deny that Lia and Zachary are the same person, quoting the family Educational Rights and Privacy Act “to protect the privacy of students”.
Lia’s victory occurs about two weeks after Gallagher, a Trans Track athlete in the Portland region, exploded the competition.

Gallagher, a champion of the state last year, finished at 57.62 at 400 meters, with Kinnaly Solhanthong from Franklin High School arriving in second position at 1: 05.72. Gallagher’s teammate, Quinnan Schaefer, was behind Solhanthong at 1: 07.13.
In the 200 -meter race, Gallagher finished first place at 25.76, followed by his teammate Addyson Skyles at 27.31.
The twice for Gallagher were the best of the season.
