‘Gol gappa’ in hot water on the scam abroad

Karachi:

Bazaar soldiers police arrested Mind Mehdi, alias Gol Gappa, a fugitive sought in multiple cases of fraud involving the deception of citizens without distrust with false promises of employment abroad.

According to the soldier of Sho Ps Bazaar Waqar Azem, Mehdi had fled in several cases registered against him at the police stations of Soldier Bazaar, Firozabad and Baloch. He is said to have defrauded millions of young people who want to obtain jobs abroad, offering them opportunities made in Qatar, Dubai, Australia, Canada and the United States.

The police revealed that Mehdi and his gang operated through the city, targeting the victims without distrust with dreams of a better future. It would require early payments ranging from RS1.5 million to Rs3 million from each victim, in exchange for fraudulent internships.

To seem credible, he signed false agreements on false stamp papers and issued counterfeit checks.

Once he received the payments, Mehdi was hiding for months, leaving his victims blocked. Over the past two years, countless complaints have been filed against him, several victims approaching organizations for the application of the law for justice. Sources indicate that Mehdi’s arrest can lead to crucial revelations on its network and other accomplices. Police suspect that his gang remains active in Karachi, continuing to attract new victims.
