Karachi / Rawalpindi / Peshawar:

While the stopwatch has passed on the government’s deadline so that unrelated foreigners leave the country, Afghan nationals from several cities began to pack their bags – some voluntarily, others by force.

The authorities, on the other hand, increase heat. The law enforcement organizations have increased operations in several cities to facilitate what managers now describe as the “forced repatriation” of holders of the card of Afghan citizenship (ACC). The period of voluntary repatriation ending, many Afghan stores and offices managed in the commercial areas of Peshawar have remained closed from Eid.

Afghan nationals have closed their stores and offices in Peshawar shopping centers, while law enforcement organizations have intensified operations to facilitate the process of repatriation.

As part of the national Nadra national recitation and renewal campaign, dozens of Afghan people have canceled their Pakistani identity cards.

A major repression is expected after April 11. Until now, 153 Afghan refugees have voluntarily returned to Afghanistan.

Stores belonging to Afghan citizens involved in various trades – including food, rugs, dishes and shoes – have remained closed after Eid.

While a brief stay Eidul Fitr had granted additional time on Afghan nationals, the authorities said that the pardon was over and that no other extension would be granted.

In addition, officials warn that arrests should start soon. Although the detentions have not yet started in KP, the sources say that it is only a matter of time before the hammer falls.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, more than 50 people with Afghan citizen cards (ACC) were placed in police custody during police operations and went to temporary camps.

According to police sources, several teams carry out operations in various fields. Individuals holding ACCs will be repatriated to Afghanistan from these camps to Afghanistan.

Sources have added that card holders of card will also be held and transferred to the camps.

Operations will now be carried out daily.

Similarly, in Karachi, the authorities and organizations for implementing the law began to implement the federal government’s policy on Friday to deport undocumented foreign nationals, launching what civil servants have described as the “forced repatriation” of the holders of the ACC.

According to official data, the operation targets approximately 16,138 individuals, with more than 150 already detained in Karachi alone.

Inspector Deputy Deputy General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza has confirmed that 162 ACC holders had so far been brought to the installation of designated detention.

Some were released after verification revealed that they held proof of recording evidence (POR).

Dig Raza said that a total of 196 Afghans from different regions had been brought to the camp on April 3.
