A video of the ABIGAIL Wilson female disk golfer refusing to face a transgender opponent became viral on Friday, which made the praise of female sport rights activists.
The incident came only a few days after PK Press Club Digital reported that women’s shooter Stephanie Turner refused to deal with a transgender opponent during a competition in Maryland, which caused world awareness and criticism against American fences.
Wilson’s refusal to face the Trans athlete came to Nashville, Tennessee, MVP Music City Open on Friday, which is an event officially sanctioned by Disc Golf Pro Tour and the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). When her name was called to intervene to participate, she went to the Tee box, ended up with her draw and threw her arm forward, but did not drop the disc. Then she turned to explain why.
“Women must be protected in our division!” Wilson shouted at the crowd. “It’s unfair. I refuse to play!”

Later Friday, she shared the images of her protest in an Instagram video.
“Today, I refused to play the opening of Music City. Sport is the time to speak and stand up,” she wrote in legend.

“I took this position today because I had anxiety at the idea of playing with the openly trans player on tour because of the demonstrations planned for this year and threats of violence during the event last year. After talking with a member of the DGPT staff yesterday, they clearly indicated that they would not want to change me at a previous time with regard to my security fears on the course.
“They assured me that there would be bags of bags, police and security at the event. Arriving this morning, there was no security or police presence, I was also authorized to enter even if I did not have my references. There was no safety precaution.”
Wilson added that she thought that the decision will end her discussion career on record.
“Today, I have probably ended my career and it’s good because it’s bigger than me.”
PK Press Club Digital contacted the CEO and director of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Jeff Spring to comment.
