Ameer Jamaat-E-Islami, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, while addressing an emergency press conference in Mansoora, Lahore, strongly condemned the Israeli aggression in Palestine, the silence of the Muslim world and the apathy of the international community.
He said that the true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes supporting Israel has now been exposed. Announcing a national solidarity campaign, he said that Jamaat-E-Islami would organize protest marches across the country to support the Palestinian people.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman announced that protest gatherings will be held outside the American embassies on April 11 in Lahore, on April 13 in Karachi and April 20 in Islamabad to send a strong message to the world against Israeli atrocities in Palestine.
Criticizing Muslim leaders, he said, “if there had been an honor and courage in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism”. He warned that alignment with the Zionist regime and conclude agreements under American patronage would not guarantee the security of Muslim countries. “The oppression is not limited to Gaza alone; Israel has demolished more than 80,000 houses in the West Bank, imprisoned thousands of people and commits a genocide,” he added.
He said that those who betrayed the Ummah by collaborating with Zionists cause irreparable damage, and it is the collective responsibility of the Muslim world to raise their voice for the quons of Al and the Palestinian people.
Commenting on the recent government’s recent decision to reduce electricity bills, Hafiz Naeem described it as insufficient, declaring that the public suffers from inflation and economic difficulties while the government only takes aesthetic measures.
Answering a question, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said Jamaat-E-Islami will send a letter to the United Nations Secretary General in the coming months, stressing Israeli assault and terrorism in Palestine in order to awaken global conscience.
He also demanded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarifies reports on a Pakistani delegation would have visited Israel. He said that if such people exist, they should be arrested and questioned that they have authorized them to dialogue with the Israelis, which is contrary to the official state policy.
Hafiz Naeem also called for eminent researchers like Mufti Taqi Usmani, Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman and others to provide advice on Sharia law on the question of jihad in light of the Israeli atrocities in progress in Gaza, so that Muslim leaders can be forced to take concrete measures to support the people of gestures.
