A female pool tournament championship in the United Kingdom presented two transgender athletes who defeated their female competition.
Harriet Haynes and Lucy Smith have become advanced in the Ultimate Pool Women’s Pro Series 2 event at the Robin Park Leisure Center in Wigan.
The two competitors beat four opponents each to go to the fight of the championship.

Each of Haynes’s matches was quite close, but Smith dominated at the start of the medium. Smith defeated Jane Mitchell 7 executives at 3 in the first round, then beat Vicki Lomax, 7-1.
Haynes led the championship match, 6-3, at one point, but Smith returned to reduce the deficit to one. Haynes, however, has retained the victory.
According to Ultimate Pool Group, Smith won 85 of the 113 matches and 62% of the 848 images dating back to 2021 before entering the final. Haynes had a percentage of 0.750 victories in 241 life for life and won 61% of executives before taking Smith.
The two players found themselves face to face in the semi-finals of the British British series swimming pool championships in October. Haynes won this match but lost the championship for the benefit of a biological woman.
The rules of the English association Pool and the World Pool Federation of Eight Balles (WEPF) indicate that trans-identified athletes are allowed to compete in sport without any restrictions, According to their website. In August 2023, WEPF announced that it updated its directives to allow those who were “born women” to play sport.
“We understand that this decision can arouse questions and discussions in our sport. We want to emphasize that our commitment to maintain the values of the sporting spirit, inclusiveness and adherence to regulatory standards remains unshakable,” WEPF said at the time. “Our ultimate objective is to ensure the continuous growth and the development of the sport that we all love, while maintaining a harmonious balance between the inclusiveness and the integrity of the competition. We recognize the importance of promoting an environment where everyone can participate and prosper, and we remain devoted to the maintenance of these principles at best of our capacities.”

But in October of the same year, WEPF overturned This protection. It allowed transgender competitors under the condition that they identified as a woman for at least four years and submitted proof of reduction in testosterone levels.
