- Microsoft admitted having published the bad price increases on April 1st
- They were rectified on April 4 and the documentation is now up to date
- The price increase of 5% only affects monthly subscriptions
Microsoft recognized and apologized after having published the wrong prices for a number of its most popular software products.
By taking an online assistance page, the correction of previous prices published on April 1 was carried out on April 4, when Microsoft admitted: “All the partners of the cloud solutions (CSP)” had been misled.
Microsoft’s error assigned the annual commitment of monthly billing plans for Microsoft 365 COPILOT, Microsoft 365 COPILOT for Sales and Microsoft 3465 COPILOT for service, and did not correctly reflect the changes announced in November 2024.
Microsoft software price errors
“The price lists based on April licenses published on April 1, 2025 included incorrect prices for the annual commitment of monthly billing plans for Microsoft 365 COPILOT, Microsoft 365 COPILOT for Sales and Microsoft 365 COPILOT for the service,” says the note.
“According to the announcement in December 2024 concerning flexible billing for Microsoft 365 Copilot, prices should have been 5% higher for monthly billing,” continues the correction.
In November 2024, Microsoft announced that it would increase the prices of these three co -pilot variants by around 5%, with a few small fluctuations depending on local currencies.
Microsoft 365, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Windows 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Services, Microsoft Power Platform and other online services also obtained the same 5%treatment, while Teams Phone has obtained an increase in price of $ 10 / month – its first since its launch in 2017 – but they do not seem to have been This month.
We noted at a time when all customers wishing to avoid price increases can pay each year, because the 5% increases had to affect monthly subscriptions. The convenience of a more flexible price therefore has a cost.
The assistance page confirms that price errors have now been corrected in the partner center catalog, and revised price lists are also available for download.
