EXCLUSIVE: Roberto Clemente Jr. met Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday on Monday to find ways to honor the legacy of his legendary father more after the outlet concerning the team by removing an external tribute to the temple of baseball renown.
The tribute was placed on the wall of the right field – a sign with the name of Roberto Clemente and n ° 21. The fans noticed before the team’s opening at home that the tribute was removed in favor of an advertisement for an alcoholic drink.

Clemente’s son expressed his dismay for the decision in a statement this weekend, but he told PK Press Club Digital that the two parties “thought” to correctly rectify the situation after having an initial conversation with the team.
“Right now, we’re going to think. We have to take up certain ideas that we have listed. I’m not going to go into details right now,” he said. “But I think we should have something in the next two weeks to at least really meet in this new relationship with the pirates. And I think things happen for a reason.
“It is something that we feel really linked to the team forever. I always say that I was born with a hide and seek and that I would die with an eyepatch, even if I have never played for the pirates, but obviously, I was connected and no matter where I go, I represent the pirates and we, as a family, have always been ambassadors, not only for the game but for the games but for the game but for the games but for the games.
“I really know that fans show their support and a certain frustration towards many things that happen. I think we can have a great result of this conversation that will benefit fans from Clemente to Pittsburgh.”
Clemente said he had learned of the deletion of the tribute via social media.
“I never really realized that the panel was broken until later when I went home on social networks when I saw the post there,” he said. “It was very surprising for me. I was surprised and obviously my reaction was” wow “. That’s all I said and I left it there.

“Little Did I Know It was Going to Catch Fire and Obviously There’s a lot of Emotions With the Fans and the Team and Some Frustrations and I Think That Kind of Was the Last Straw For A Lot of The Big Pirate and Clemente Fans, and They Took It Upon themselves to express them, and Obviously it was overwhelming responsibility.

The organization of pirates said that the deletion of the tribute was an “honest error”.
“We did not intend to lack respect for the inheritance of Roberto Clemente by adding advertising to the PAD in the right field,” said Travis Williams team in a statement.
“When we added advertising to the PAD, it was surveillance not to keep logo n ° 21. It is ultimately on me, no one else in the organization. It was an honest error.”
The team said it would make logo n ° 21.
“We have used this area for advertisements for many years. When we did not have a sponsor out of Covid, we added an additional element in 2022 to honor Roberto’s inheritance,” added Williams. “It was a replica of the signat of the three rivers honoring him.
“This is added to the many elements of the Ball park which honor its heritage, including the fact that the wall is named Roberto Clemente Wall, measures 21 feet high and two n ° 21.

“We want to make sure that the Clemente family understands that we had no lack of respect for their father. We are impatient to continue our relationship with the Clemente family and apologize for our fans for our honest error.”
