Donjouting the dreams of hundreds of brilliant students who aspire to continue higher education abroad, the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) ended its global undergraduate exchange program for Pakistan (Ugrad Global Uggrad).
“We regret informing you that after 15 incredible years, the world at first cycle exchange program for Pakistan (Ugrad Global) ended,” USEFP said in a statement.
“The US State Department has informed USEFP that the World Ugrad-Pakistan program will no longer be offered.”
The educators said that the program had a lasting impact on thousands of students, offering them academic growth opportunities and leadership while promoting cultural exchanges, adding that this announcement was heartbreaking for students who were trying to study abroad.
“We understand that this news can be disappointing, especially for those who applied this year and who were looking forward to this opportunity,” noted USEFP.
“Over the years, the global UGGE has provided experiences that change life to thousands of students, promoting academic growth, cultural exchange and development of leadership.”
Pride of the success of the scholarship, the USEFP deplored the cessation of such a successful program, wishing the beneficiaries of the former beneficiaries.
“We are extremely proud of the impact of this program on its participants and the communities they have touched,” added USEFP.
USEFP says that it always encourages students to stay looking for options to develop personally and academically.
“We sincerely appreciate your interest in the program and your commitment to personal and academic growth. Although this chapter is firm, we encourage you to explore other exchange and scholarship opportunities that can align with your aspirations.”
In closing, USEFP wished all participants the success of their future academic and professional paths. “We wish you all the best in your academic and professional trips.”
USEFP was created in 1950 to manage the prestigious Fulbright program, the US government’s flagship scholarship program. The World First Cycle (Global Ugrad) program was set up in 2010, under which more than 2,657 undergraduate students had the opportunity to study for a semester in American colleges and universities.
