“We are sensitive to the needs in terms of confidentiality of all our students from the college and we make sure that no student is required to transform into a gymnasium uniform for the physical education course in front of others. When our two colleges were renovated in 2017, we added five private changing stations in each locker room that are available for all students.
The district also said that it would work with local families to determine the next steps.
“The District and the Board of Directors are united to our leaders and educators on this issue and have a common commitment to respect the law,” said the press release.
“The district and the board of directors call upon all those who express concerns or perspectives on this issue with our staff and our educators to do so in a respectful and civil manner. We are happy to work with families to respond to any individual concern and determine the next appropriate steps to support the well-being and participation of your child.”
