- The Nintendo Switch 2 eShop will not have background music
- Music will be absent because Nintendo wanted to prioritize gameplay videos presented on the store
- The 2 Kouichi Kawamoto switch producer said that his main objective was the performance and the creation of a “more fluid experience” for users
Just like on the Nintendo switch, the Eshop Switch 2 will not present any background music while you travel the versions.
In a new interview with Polygon according to the Nintendo Switch 2 direct, the console producer Kouichi Kawamoto confirmed that the new eshop will not have themed songs, unlike Wii and Wii U, but there is a practical reason.
“Unlike the time, the eshop now has a lot of videos that present the games,” said Kawamoto. “We did not want to encroach on this subject, so we have no music there.”
Although there is no catchy music to get stuck in your head, Kawamoto explained that its main objective to improve the Eshop Switch 2 was performance and making it a more fluid experience for users.
“I wanted to make sure that it was a fluid experience. That the scrolling of the list does not hold, that it is very fluid, the pages are loaded quickly,” he said.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is released around the world on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 $ 499.99 / 429.99 £ for a Mario Kart World pack.
Pre-orders should open the opening on April 8 in the United Kingdom, but Nintendo delayed switch 2 pre-orders in the United States from its original date on April 9 “in order to assess the potential impact of progressive prices and market conditions”.
Nintendo will update the pre -order calendar on a later date, but has confirmed that the console will still be launched on June 5.
