ATC extends Bushra’s surety in the case of protest

Islamabad / Rawalpindi:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi extended Tuesday the provisional guarantee of Bushra Bibi, the wife of the founder of the PTI, in 31 cases linked to the demonstrations of November 26, until April 29.

ATC judge Amjad Ali Shah, also extended the provisional endorses of Azam Swati, Naeem Panjutha, Mishal Yousafzai and Sanam Javed until April 15, while the secretary general of PTI Salman Akram Raja obtained an extension of the deposit until April 21 in the events of October 5.

The court also ordered Bushra Bibi to join the investigation in the FIRs registered in Attock, asking that she be questioned in the presence of her husband – the founding president of PTI incarcerated Imran Khan – and legal advisor.

During the procedure, the investigation team informed the court that Bushra Bibi had already joined investigations in the cases registered in the Rawalpindi district, but the investigation remained incomplete. The court ordered the investigators to complete the investigation and submit the report before the next hearing.

All those responsible for the survey concerned and the special prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah were present at the hearing.

The court postponed new procedures on provisional deposit requests in affairs from November 36 until April 29.

In a development parallel to Islamabad, the ATC judge, Tahir Abbas Sipra, gave a provisional guarantee to the head of the PTI, Omar Ayub, in eight distinct FIR linked to the demonstrations of November 26. The court prevented the police from arresting him until April 29 and ordered him from cooperating with the investigations.

Ayub appeared before the court alongside his legal team and submitted requests for a judgment against the deposit in eight cases recorded in several police stations, notably Kohsar, Margalla, Tarnol and Aabpara.
