- Meury has published a firmware update for the Philips Hue Play synchronization box
- The update will particularly benefit the owners PS5 and PS5 PRO
- It also adds “seamless” compatibility for 3D content
If you have a Philips Hue game configuration at home, there is good news – a new software update takes place now for your synchronization box, and it is full of features and fixes to improve your multimedia experience.
As Hueblog.com explains, the firmware version 2.5.0 makes several modifications that should be music to the ears of the players. For example, the SYNC Box 8K Philips Hue Play boxes now works with the compression of display flows (DSC), allowing 8K to 60Hz resolutions for the PS5 PRO.
In its publication notes, Signoy (the company behind Philips Hue) also promises an optimized entry switch switching, which should reduce latency if you use a PS5 connected to an LG TV.
3D content can now also be sent via the SYNC Box 8K, with the promising “transparent compatibility” in case you always keep your 2011 3D Blu-ray collection.
Bogs correction
Signoy also corrected a bug that caused “problems with the PAC / Auto functionalities and the car after 20 minutes” when the HDMI cable of the synchronization box was connected to the second output of an AV receiver.
Automatic light synchronization now works properly when the box is also used in this configuration.
There is also a new firmware for the HDMI synchronization box from Philips Hue Play. This makes “general bugs and improvements”, although meaning has not provided more specific details. The two updates take place now and you should receive the new firmware in the coming days (if you have not already done so).
