The power plants of the bagasse require a price cut

Islamabad:

Bagasse electric power plants have also asked the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to reduce electricity prices – a request that, if approved, can cause these factories cheaper.

Nine Bagasse electric power plants requested a reduction in fuel costs and proposed to correct 17% beneficiary margins by reducing the performance of electricity production.

A 10% reduction in maintenance and operating costs has also been requested. They also asked for a 0.7% reduction in insurance costs. The power plants of Bagasse have requested authorization to sell electricity on the free market.

The bagasse is the dry and fibrous material which remains after the sugar cane or the sorghum stems are crushed to extract their juice. This is a by-product of the sugar production process.
