Pakistan security forces killed two terrorists, including a high-value target during an intelligence-based operation in the Lower Dir Tirmergara area, Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday.
The deceased included Hafizullah alias “Kochwan”, a key terrorist linked to several attacks on security personnel and civilians, added the ISPR press release. The operation took place during the night between April 10 and 11.
Forces launched the strike after confirming the presence of terrorists in the region.
A fierce exchange of shooting committed suicide, during which the two terrorists were killed and their hiding place destroyed, officials said.
Hafizullah was among the most sought after figures in the application of laws and brought a bonus of 10 million rupees. The army said that it had played a central role in the orchestration of terrorist activities in the region.
A customs clearance is underway in the midst of concerns of more terrorists in the region, said the ISPR. The Pakistani army reiterated its determination to eliminate terrorism across the country.
Earlier this week, the security forces killed nine activists in an intelligence operation in the Takwara region in Dera Ismail Khan late Sunday evening.
According to ISPR, among people killed, several terrorists, including Shireen, a high -value target and a militant leader, who was sought for his involvement in multiple terrorist attacks.
Shireen had also participated in the targeted murder of civilians and was responsible for the martyrdom of Captain Hasnain Akhtar.
The army said the troops launched the RAID according to the confirmed information concerning the presence of activists in the region. A fierce exchange of fire followed, in which the activists were “sent to hell,” added the press release.
