The Sindh government has extended the deadline to replace old vehicle registration books with new smart cards in terms of security until May 15, 2025.
The decision was announced by the Minister of Sindh for the Expos, Taxation and Narcotic Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, who approved the extension to facilitate the public, Express News reported.
An official notification was issued by the Department of Agency Control, Taxation and Narcotics.
Previously, the deadline to switch to intelligent registration cards was set on April 3, 2025.
The authorities have urged vehicle owners through the province to take advantage of the extension and update their old documents before the new deadline.
The new smart cards are equipped with improved safety features aimed at limiting counterfeiting and guaranteeing the holding of digital files.
